Never let it get precious

I was working at a painting years ago when an old friend, Dick Brunelle, an american professor, said to me: this is coming along very nicely, but never let it get precious. I painted this young lady yesterday and the thought came to mind before I decided what I was going to do with the rest of the painting. Never let it get precious.

She ended up a florist and I titled it: the florist is in love. Who with? That is part of the mystery!

This is the new work I'm painting now and I promise I won't let it get precious either.
